Homebase is a leading home improvement and garden retailer in the UK, offering DIY products, furniture, and appliances. With a growing online demand, Homebase needed to ensure its digital store was as efficient as its physical ones.

The challenge

The older platform had complex navigation, lacked real-time inventory feedback, and faced frequent drop-offs in the checkout funnel — especially on mobile. The UX didn’t reflect the modern DIY shopper’s need for speed, ease, and inspiration.

We executed an end-to-end eCommerce UI/UX redesign focused on driving engagement and conversions. The build followed a mobile-first development approach using React and Tailwind CSS, ensuring smooth functionality across devices. A smart search system with predictive filters was introduced to enhance product discovery. We also enabled live stock synchronization and integrated a click-and-collect module to improve the purchase journey. The backend was connected with ERP and fulfillment APIs for seamless operations, while the Shopify Plus-powered one-click checkout simplified the final step for users.
